President Erdoğan made striking statements at the Iftar Program for International Women's Day on March 8 at the Haliç Congress Center.
CLEAR MESSAGE AFTER RANA'S DEATH
Speaking about the killing of 2-year-old Rana by stray street dogs in Konya, Erdoğan stated, "In order to solve this growing problem, all local governments, regardless of opposition or ruling party, need to work together."
"PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE HAS EXPANDED THE INVESTIGATION"
Erdoğan also said, "I pray for mercy for our 2-year-old Rana, who lost her life as a result of an attack by stray dogs in Konya. We are determined to implement the law we enacted in August against the obstacles of the opposition and all organized structures. God willing, we will protect our children, whom mothers hesitate to kiss and hug. The Prosecutor's Office has expanded the investigation regarding yesterday's incident," he stated.
WHAT HAPPENED?
2-year-old Rana, who went to visit relatives with her family in Şehit Erdal Özçelik Street, Başak Neighborhood, Karatay district of Konya, was attacked by approximately 10 street dogs. The severely injured child was taken to Konya City Hospital by her relatives. Unfortunately, the child could not be saved despite all the medical intervention.
