The last National Security Council meeting of the year has concluded. In the statement released after the 2-hour and 15-minute meeting, it was stated, "In line with the goal of a 'Terror-free Turkey,' the multifaceted efforts aimed at completely and permanently ending terrorism and strengthening our national unity and solidarity have been addressed; it has been emphasized that there is no place for any manifestation of terrorism and violence in the future of our region."

The last National Security Council (MGK) meeting of the year has concluded. The meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, took place at the Presidential Complex and lasted for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

During the meeting, the progress made in the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, the activities of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), developments in Syria and Sudan, the ceasefire achieved in Gaza, the Russia-Ukraine War, and the current status of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.

7-ITEM STATEMENT FROM MGK

Following the meeting, a 7-item statement was published by the Presidency's Communication Directorate.

The statement is as follows:

"1. Information was provided to the Council regarding the activities carried out with determination, decisiveness, and success against all kinds of threats and dangers to our national unity and integrity, primarily by the terrorist organizations PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and ISIS, as well as recent international developments.

2. In line with the goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey," the multi-dimensional efforts aimed at completely and permanently ending terrorism and strengthening our national unity and solidarity were discussed; it was emphasized that there is no place for any manifestation of terrorism and violence in the future of our region.

3. Satisfaction was expressed regarding the progress made by our neighbor Syria in overcoming the challenges it faces and achieving the international status it deserves, as well as contributing to regional stability; it was stated that Turkey will continue to support the peace, prosperity, welfare, and security of all segments of the brotherly Syrian people.

4. It was stated that the ceasefire achieved in Gaza, of which our country is also one of the architects, is vital for stopping the genocide in the region; furthermore, it was emphasized that the Israeli administration, which violates the ceasefire, must immediately cease its attacks and fulfill its obligations.

It was expressed that Turkey is ready to take responsibility in mechanisms that will guarantee peace and stability in Gaza, as it did in establishing the ceasefire, and to contribute to efforts to rebuild Gaza.

5. Developments in Sudan were evaluated; our support for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity was reaffirmed, and a call was made for all international actors, especially regional countries, to act in cooperation to stop the massacres against innocent civilians and to take steps to end the conflicts in the country.

6. The latest situation in the Russia-Ukraine War was evaluated, and the importance of seeking diplomatic solutions in the face of developments indicating the risk of escalation of the war was emphasized; it was noted that Turkey will continue its efforts with international partners to establish a lasting and just peace.

7. In light of the recent positive developments in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, bilateral and regional cooperation opportunities were discussed; our determination to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus and to ensure development was reaffirmed."
