Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has stayed out of the public eye following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election. As the election results began to lean in Trump's favor, Harris's team canceled planned election night celebrations and left media inquiries unanswered. Trump's victory was shaped by successes in critical swing states. First winning North Carolina, Trump then secured victories in Georgia and Pennsylvania, guaranteeing the presidency. According to Fox News, Harris's press secretary instructed her team not to engage with the media. A CNN reporter at the campaign headquarters in Washington DC reported that no statements were made by Harris's team. Supporters at Howard University, where Harris graduated, continued to anxiously await the results. A CNN reporter summarized the situation: "Right now, silence reigns in a word. The Harris team seems to be looking for hopeful points on the election map." In contrast, Harris's Campaign Manager Jen O'Malley Dillon tried to paint an optimistic picture in an email sent to the team: "We knew the path to 270 electoral votes went through the Blue Wall states, and we are hopeful about what we are seeing." According to the Associated Press, the Harris campaign cut the CNN broadcast during the election night event. The Vice Presidential candidate is expected to make a statement on Wednesday.
