Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Chairman of the Future Party, stated in a television broadcast he participated in, "To be honest, I am experiencing financial difficulties. Both my wife and I are working. I am not without difficulties in terms of the representational capacity of a former prime minister."
The General President of the Future Party, Ahmet Davutoğlu, made evaluations regarding the agenda on NOW TV broadcast. Criticizing the Presidential Government System, Davutoğlu stated that he does not find it appropriate for former ministers to take positions on the boards of private companies after leaving office. He expressed that it is unacceptable for a former transportation minister to join the management of a company belonging to a consortium that was involved in the negotiation process, questioning why such a situation is accepted.
"YOU NEED TO HOST FOREIGN GUESTS LIKE A PRIME MINISTER"
Davutoğlu said: "Do you think I don't receive offers? To be honest, I am experiencing financial difficulties. Both my wife and I work. I am not without difficulties in terms of the representation capability of a former prime minister. You need to host those coming from abroad, foreign guests like a prime minister. There are things that challenge me as well. I am not saying this to complain. We are getting by on our own, but in terms of state reputation, if former ministers start working with companies for these livelihood issues, the state’s reputation will be damaged."
"I REJECTED ALL OFFERS"
Davutoğlu stated that he also received consultancy offers from international organizations but did not accept the offers, saying, "I cannot talk about financial difficulties while our people are in this situation. I cannot do company consultancy; this is the state tradition."
