According to information reflected behind the scenes at the AK Party's Sapanca camp, President Erdoğan instructed his aides to end the atmosphere of "complacency" within the party organizations. While party sources indicated that a performance-oriented revision is being prepared, they stated that early elections and a cabinet reshuffle are not on the agenda in the short term.
At AK Party's Sapanca camp, while economy, security, societal expectations, and new term policies formed the main items of the official agenda, the most discussed topic behind the scenes was messages directed at the party organizations.
According to information obtained from party sources, it is stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is disturbed by what he perceives as an atmosphere of "complacency" that has emerged in the organizations recently. In this context, it is noted that preparations are underway for a comprehensive revision in both provincial and district organizations as well as in the AK Party Central Executive Board (MYK) in the upcoming period.
Party sources indicated that Erdoğan wants the organizations to remain constantly in the field, even without an election atmosphere, stating, "It is desired to continue with cadres that work, connect with citizens, and do not leave the field empty. Performance will now be monitored more closely."
EARLY ELECTION NOT ON THE AGENDA
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, early election claims that occasionally surface in political circles were also evaluated during the meeting. AK Party sources stated that an early election in the fall of 2026 is not viewed favorably, and the government's priority is economic policies.
Therefore, it was conveyed that the focus is expected to be on restructuring organizations and increasing field activities rather than election preparations in the coming period.
CABINET RESHUFFLE NOT EXPECTED FOR NOW
In recent days, claims that two ministers would be dismissed after the NATO Summit were also discussed in camp circles. Party sources stated that a cabinet reshuffle is not planned before the fall, emphasizing that President Erdoğan's priority is to revitalize party organizations.
Behind the scenes, it is said that expectations for change in party management and organizations outweigh those for the cabinet in the short term, and a possible cabinet reshuffle could be reassessed in the future based on political and economic developments.
