Before the new legislative year of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Haberler.com made special broadcasts. AK Party Member of Parliament Oğuz Üçüncü was among the guests of those broadcasts. Touching on many topics from the new Constitution studies to the issue of justice in taxation, Üçüncü emphasized that reducing inflation is among the government's priorities in the new term. "THE CITIZENS HAVE SWEET BUT FIRM WARNINGS FOR US"Referring to the expectations of citizens from the TBMM, AK Party Member of Parliament Oğuz Üçüncü emphasized that the language and tone spoken in the Assembly should be softened. "There can be discussions, and they can even be harsh, but especially here, the relationships between the parties reflect on society, and our citizens shared with us that this sometimes causes tensions in society. The second expectation is the economy. Especially during our conversations with citizens after Friday prayers and daily prayers, our retired elders, while sweetly criticizing us, also justifiably talked about the difficulties of making ends meet and the troubles brought by the high cost of living. We are living the same life; we are in the same situation. Of course, we are also affected by these increases. Our people there emphasized that they are patient, that they understand the solution to this process will not be quick, but that equal treatment is necessary, and that everyone should tighten their belts. While doing this, they also had sweet but firm warnings. They say that especially the costs of upcoming implementations, such as EYT (Retirement Age Regulation) and similar studies, should be well calculated regarding the burdens they bring to society, and that even if societal pressure intensifies on certain issues, it should be well calculated what it will cost. They have valid criticisms, but at the same time, we, as both the government and our elders in state management, must maintain a balance policy here. Our people express their expectations, especially regarding the high cost of living and inflation, meaning that the increase in prices should be curbed, and they remind us that the trend should now be downward and that this should be felt in the field. "WE NEED TO ENSURE JUSTICE IN TAXATION""What we need to do is not to increase the tax itself, but to equally raise the tax base, the number of taxpayers, and especially to take necessary actions regarding a segment that makes luxury and similar expenditures if there is a situation that is not reflected in taxes. Rather than being hostile to capital, we need to make a distinction between investment and luxury spending, and work to balance the tax there. The important thing here is not to hinder investments. High interest rates have a certain allure for keeping your money in deposits, but despite this, we need to encourage everyone who invests, knowing that they play a very important role, facilitating the work of our industrialists and businessmen who are oriented towards exports and producing added value, and increasing their efforts to open up to larger markets." "CITIZENS SHOWED US A YELLOW CARD IN LOCAL ELECTIONS""The ruling party, which is meticulously implementing the Medium-Term Program and has faced harsh criticisms from our citizens in this regard, needs to intensify its efforts to ensure the success of the program during this period, while I believe that the discussions about early elections are a futile debate and an irresponsibility towards the country. Indeed, our people have made their political preferences known in the past year. In both our presidential elections and parliamentary elections, they expressed their will in local elections by showing a yellow card to the ruling party. Our current responsibility is to implement the MTP, to ensure the continuation of the decrease in inflation, but while doing this, we must not forget the fire circle in which this country is located geographically. Now is not the time for early elections." "TURKEY WILL LEAD TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FAIR ORDER""Especially, we remember the suggestions of Western countries regarding international law after Russia's war against Ukraine, and when you replace Russia with Israel and Ukraine with Palestine, you see that there is currently no international community saying stop to Israel. The little child in the neighborhood challenges everyone. Why can he do that? Because his brother is always behind him. As long as this is the case, both international law and the international legal system, as well as its validity, continue to be questioned day by day. Which state will comply with international law from now on? What we need to do as a country is to be strong and continue to raise the voice of the oppressed. These oppressions will end one day, and Turkey will be a pioneer in the construction of a world where we can live in fairness and prosperity.
