AK Party Secretary General and İzmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan drew attention to the regional threats facing Turkey. In his statement, İnan said, "They asked what we were doing in Libya. They asked what we were doing in Syria. They asked what we were doing in Karabakh. Today, at this point, we see that if Turkey had not taken those steps, we would be facing much more severe security risks today."
AK Party Secretary General and İzmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan, in his speech at the Vefa Iftar program organized by the AK Party Niğde Provincial Presidency, drew attention to the regional threats facing Turkey and emphasized the trust the nation has in Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
İnan stated that Turkey is located in a difficult geography and expressed that according to recent polls, the leader whom the nation trusts is clearly evident.
"80% OF OUR NATION SAYS ERDOĞAN PROTECTS THE COUNTRY FROM DANGERS" İnan highlighted the research conducted in Turkey and made the following assessment: "Today, approximately 80% of our citizens in this country say, 'The leader who will protect Turkey from the dangers in our region is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.' Because our nation knows that when it comes to Turkey's independence, when it comes to the security of our country, and when it comes to the rights of the oppressed, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a leader who does not take a step back."
Emphasizing the importance of the steps Turkey has taken in recent years, İnan stated that defense and security policies have positioned Turkey more strongly today.
"DID YOU SEE THOSE WHO ASKED WHAT WE ARE DOING IN SYRIA?" Recalling the operations carried out for Turkey's border security, İnan noted that the main opposition has opposed these policies for years.
İnan said: "For years, they tried every way to destabilize Turkey. Unfortunately, the main opposition party has also played a leading role in this plan. They opposed all cross-border operations carried out to ensure our border security. They said no to the motions that came to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
They asked, 'What are we doing in Libya?' They asked, 'What are we doing in Syria?' They asked, 'What are we doing in Karabakh?' Today, at the point we have reached, we see that if Turkey had not taken those steps, we would be facing much heavier security risks today."

İnan also addressed CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, stating that it has become clear how critical the motions that were opposed for years are for Turkey's security: "I ask CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, you served as Group Deputy Chairman for years. It is your duty to make a statement to this nation. Why did you oppose the motions that came, why did you vote no, why did you strive for them not to pass in the assembly? If those moves had not been made today, if Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's great leadership had not existed, would the terrorist corridor in Syria be a threat to us or not? Instead of apologizing and admitting that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was right because you said no to the motions, you are still attacking us. The polls are clear. 80% of our nation says that if anyone can save us from this danger, it is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, says Özgür Özel."
"THE OLD MENTALITY OF VESAYET HAS NOT CHANGED IN CHP" In his speech, İnan also reacted to the statements made by a CHP deputy regarding secularism, stating that these remarks are a continuation of the past oppressive mentality.
İnan used the following expressions: "Yesterday, once again, a voice rose from the remnants of the old Turkey. We have been saying for years that the mentality of the CHP has not changed at all. A CHP deputy has come out and said: 'There is a large mass defending secularism, you will have to account to them.' Look… These words are not foreign to us at all. Once upon a time, the same mentality declared, 'We will lead this country, we are the elite, even if they get 99% of the votes, we are superior,' waging war against the values of the nation. That arrogant language, which belittles the faith of the nation and despises the values of the nation, is once again appearing in the CHP. We clearly state from here: we only account to the nation. Not to a mentality that looks down on the nation from above and belittles faithful people. Just as this nation taught you a lesson in the past about your arrogant and prohibitive understanding, it will do so again.
You are still disturbed by this nation standing on its values. But know this: we will explain this truth to our nation. We will leave your language of enmity to the conscience of our nation. Because you cannot tolerate faithful people. You are disturbed by the bond this nation has with Islam. You are disturbed by the visibility of Muslims in public life. From here, we also ask CHP Chairman Özgür Özel: Do you agree with the words of this deputy in your party, or do you not? We actually know the answer. But you must account for this disrespect to our nation. Let everyone know one thing: you will carry every kind of perversion, every kind of corruption, and Halloween into the public sphere."
"THE VESAYET UNDERSTANDING HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY REJECTED BY THE NATION AT THE BALLOT BOX" İnan stated that there is now a new political climate in Turkey that does not recognize any power above the will of the nation, and that the oppressive understanding has been repeatedly rejected by the nation at the ballot box.
At the end of his speech, İnan stated that Turkey continues on its path with a strong leadership and strong state understanding, and expressed that the AK Party organizations will continue to work with the same determination alongside the nation.
