The spokesperson of the AK Party, Ömer Çelik, in a speech at a congress he attended in Adana, referred to the leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, saying, "In football, assistant referees do not have the right to show a red card. You are not the main referee. You cannot show a red card. Özgür Özel, you have once again thrown the ball out of play."
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, in his speech at the 7th Ordinary Congress of the Adana Provincial Youth Branch held at the Çukurova University Congress Center, criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
In his statements, Çelik said, "Our President's words to Assad, 'You will go and pay the price for these crimes,' have once again proven to be true, as he has said many times in foreign and domestic politics. Turkey has always stood by its neighbor in the struggle for dignity and power. When Muslims speak to Muslims, they asked, they said that while Assad is falling in Syria, the Chairman of the Republican People's Party is making a call. Please explain this. I said he has no idea what is happening within the Republican People's Party. How can he know what is happening in Syria?"
REFERENCE TO ÖZEL AS A LINE JUDGE
Çelik told party members, "Dear brothers, we will walk this path with faith. We will walk with darkness. We will establish a young resistance." Çelik continued, "He says Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was wrong about Syria. I said yesterday, was he wrong or not about Syria? Go ask our brothers in Damascus. He comes out and says I am showing a red card to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party. In football, line judges do not have the right to show a red card. You are not the main referee. WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had stated in recent weeks that he would make a big surprise announcement, and it turned out that Özel's surprise was to show a 'red card' to the government. Özel's statement had led to criticism.
