In Istanbul, where the meteorology department has been issuing warnings for days, AKOM has now provided a specific time for the expected snowfall. It is stated that temperatures, which will hover around 7 degrees throughout the day, will drop to 4 degrees and below during the night hours, with occasional heavy snow showers expected until Friday morning. Meanwhile, İSKİ has also sent an SMS warning to its subscribers.
After the consecutive warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, temperatures across the country have noticeably dropped, while millions of Istanbul residents are focused on the day when heavy snow is expected to fall.
SNOW ALERT IN ISTANBUL
In Istanbul, where a snow alert has been issued, some flights have been canceled, and necessary work has been carried out on the roads to enter a state of readiness.
PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FRIDAY
AKOM has given a time for heavy snowfall in Istanbul. Announcing that temperatures, which will hover around 7 degrees today, will drop to 4 degrees and below from the night hours, AKOM stated that the snowfall will continue strongly in places until Friday morning.
A WARNING FROM İSKİ
İSKİ also warned its subscribers via SMS about the expected snowfall in Istanbul. The message sent to phones included the following statements: "Due to the cold air wave that will be effective in Istanbul, to prevent malfunctions that may arise from freezing, exposed water pipes and meters should be closed in a way that they do not come into contact with the cold air and should be insulated with insulation material. It should not be forgotten that simple precautions can prevent potential problems."
