It was claimed that Ceyhun Baş, the site manager, took the 1 million dollars collected from the residents, who are many well-known figures from the socialite and art world in Istanbul, for the purpose of green space arrangement and disappeared. A warrant has been issued for Baş's arrest, while the residents want their money back.
Ulus Savoy Site, located in Ulus, one of Istanbul's most popular neighborhoods, has come into the spotlight due to allegations of embezzlement. It is claimed that approximately 1 million dollars (about 43 million 200 thousand TL), which was allegedly collected by the site manager for the purpose of landscaping, was taken by the manager, who then disappeared.
It is reported that notable names such as Osman-Zeynep Çarmıklı, Nuri-Dicle İpek Öztaşkın, Cem-Okşan Mirap, and Mustafa Sandal reside in the site, which has 301 apartments. Following the incident, it was stated that the residents of the site filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office.
DISAPPEARED WITH 1 MILLION DOLLARS
According to the allegation, the site management decided to lease a plot of land adjacent to the site, owned by the municipality, for use as green space. During this process, it was claimed that the site manager, Ceyhun Baş, collected approximately 1 million dollars from the residents for rent and landscaping expenses. However, instead of depositing the money to the municipality, it is alleged that the manager disappeared with this amount as well as other funds accumulated in the site account.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
According to a report by Bülent Cankurt from Sabah; upon realizing the situation, the residents approached the judicial authorities. It was claimed that an arrest warrant was issued for Ceyhun Baş, and despite approximately 15 days passing, he could not be reached. It was expressed that the residents are waiting for the suspect to be apprehended and for the money to be recovered.
