Spanish comedian Jaime Caravaca was attacked by a father during a show in Madrid, who accused him of making sexual comments about his three-month-old son. The angry father went on stage and hit the comedian hard.
"IT WAS A DISTURBING FEELING I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE IN MY LIFE"
The attacker, Alberto Pugilato, shouted, "Tell me to my face the pedophilic comments you made about my son, you scum!" The comments Pugilato referred to were made by Caravaca on social media the day before. Pugilato had shared a photo of himself and his young son with the caption "Pride and happiness." Caravaca had commented, "No one can escape the possibility of your son being gay." The man, who was very angry about the comment, caused a scene by attending the show. Despite the efforts of the audience to calm the situation, they were unsuccessful.
Pugilato spoke to MultiCanal Radio about the attack, saying, "I was in a very disturbing feeling that I have never experienced before in my life, and I couldn't find peace until I found him in front of me." The moment of the attack quickly became a trending topic on X, and many people defended the father. One user said, "Don't make fun of children," while another commented, "It's not funny anymore, is it?" Some others defended the comedian's freedom of speech.
