Makhfura Huseynova, a 44-year-old Azerbaijani national who boarded the ferry from Kadıköy to Beşiktaş, went missing during the voyage. While the woman's bag was found on the ferry, cameras confirmed she boarded in Kadıköy, but no footage was found of her disembarking in Beşiktaş.
The incident that occurred in the evening hours on a passenger ferry traveling from Kadıköy to Beşiktaş caused concern. It was determined that Makhfura Huseynova, a citizen of Azerbaijan, went missing during the ferry journey on Saturday, May 2, at around 10:00 PM.
According to the information obtained, the woman was seen sitting with her bag on the deck of the ferry, but after a while, she was noticed to be missing. When it was understood that the bag was there but Huseynova was not on the ferry, the situation was reported to the officials.
DETERMINED TO HAVE BOARDED THE FERRY IN KADIKÖY
Teams from the Port Directorate launched an investigation into the incident. The ferry that made the trip was identified as the passenger ship named "Kırçıloğlu 4". Examination of the black bag found on the ferry revealed that it belonged to Makhfura Huseynova, a citizen of Azerbaijan.
Teams reviewing the security cameras at the Kadıköy pier determined that Huseynova passed through the turnstiles and boarded the ferry at around 8:20 PM. The footage was shown to the missing woman's daughter, Nigar Yusifli, who confirmed that the person in the footage was her mother.
NO FOOTAGE OF HER DISEMBARKING IN BEŞİKTAŞ
Police teams also meticulously examined the camera recordings at the Beşiktaş pier, the ferry's destination. The investigations revealed no footage of Huseynova disembarking from the ferry. Additionally, in a conversation with the ferry captain, it was learned that the security cameras on the ship had been out of order since April 14.
SEARCH OPERATIONS INITIATED AT SEA
A large-scale search operation has been launched to find the missing woman. Two control boats from the Port Directorate, one boat from the Coast Guard Command, and one boat from the Coastal Safety Authority are conducting search activities in the area. Police teams are continuing the investigation into the incident from multiple angles.
