Following the Bedouins' declaration of mobilization against the Druze in Suwayda, southern Syria, Arab tribes announced that they would not drink coffee until they take over the state administration.
The Arab tribes in Syria stated that they will not drink coffee until all provinces are under state control, following the Bedouins' declaration of mobilization against the Druze in Suwayda, saying, "It is forbidden for us to drink coffee until revenge is taken."
ARAB TRIBES IN SUWAYDA WILL NOT DRINK COFFEE
Conflicts continue in Suwayda, southern Syria, which began with attacks by Druze armed groups against the Bedouins. After the Bedouins declared mobilization, some members of Arab tribes in Syria announced that they would not drink coffee until all provinces are under state control. One tribe member poured his coffee on the ground and said, "We declare this in front of everyone. Until Suwayda and all of Syria return under the protection and flag of the state, it is forbidden for us to drink coffee and practice the tradition of coffee grinding."
The coffee ban is known as one of the traditions practiced by Bedouin Arabs when they are attacked, and coffee is not consumed until revenge is taken.
"DO NOT PREVENT WARRIORS GOING TO SUWAYDA" CALL
The Arab tribes in Syria also declared mobilization due to attacks against the Bedouins. It was stated that this step was taken to support the Bedouin tribes. In the statement, it was expressed, "As the children of the tribes of Syria, we are following the massacre and genocide crimes committed against the Bedouin tribes in Suwayda with great concern. These attacks have led to the displacement and migration of innocent people."
The statement also requested the government not to prevent or intervene in the movement of Arab fighters going to Suwayda. It was noted that resistance was shown against attacks targeting women, children, and the elderly, and the right to defend the oppressed was exercised. The statement said, "Any measures taken against these fighters would clearly mean collaboration with the perpetrators of the massacres. In such a case, all moral and historical responsibility will rest on the shoulders of those who make this decision."
