Cemil Koç, a former police officer who killed Ayşe Tokyaz in Istanbul and placed her body in a suitcase, made a request that left the court astonished in the trial regarding the death of his religiously married wife, Ejegül Ovezova, who fell from the 8th floor two years ago. Koç stated, "My mental health is deteriorating. I request my release." However, the court rejected his request.

After being murdered in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, the body of university student Ayşe Tokyaz was found in a suitcase by the roadside in Eyüpsultan on July 13. Cemil Koç, who was taken into custody in connection with her murder, was also revealed to be a suspect in the investigation regarding Ejegül Ovezova, who died after falling from the 8th floor of a building in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır on July 24, 2023.

CEMİL KOÇ IS ALSO A MURDER SUSPECT IN HIS EX-WIFE'S DEATH

In the indictment prepared by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on July 4, 2025, it was stated that an examination was conducted at the house where the incident occurred, and blood-like stains were found on the floor and items, with most of the samples taken being identified as belonging to the victim.

PARTICIPATED IN THE HEARING VIA SEGBİS

It was learned that Cemil Koç and Ovezova lived together for a while with a religious marriage, and Koç appeared before the judge in this case as well. According to journalist Emrullah Erdinç, Cemil Koç made a shocking request during the hearing he attended via SEGBİS at the Diyarbakır 6th High Criminal Court.

"MY PSYCHOLOGY IS DISTURBED, I REQUEST MY RELEASE"

Koç stated, "My psychology is disturbed. I am repeating the statements I made before. I request my release." The court rejected the request for release.
