In the capital city of Ankara, heavy rainfall in the evening hours caused water accumulation on streets and avenues. Drivers faced difficult moments, and in some areas, trees were uprooted. The roof of one building was also blown off.
Due to the heavy rainfall affecting Ankara, the roads have turned into lakes. While vehicles faced difficulties, trees were uprooted in Keçiören and Çankaya.
The capital Ankara has succumbed to severe downpours. Due to the storm and heavy rain that were effective in the evening hours, puddles formed on some streets and avenues.
TREES WERE UPROOTED, ROOFS WERE BLOWN AWAY
Citizens caught unprepared by the rain waited in closed areas for the downpour to stop, while drivers struggled to move forward with their vehicles.
Due to the storm, trees were uprooted in the districts of Keçiören and Çankaya. In the Cengizhan neighborhood of Mamak, the roof of a building was blown away.
STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR ŞAHİN
Due to the heavy rainfall affecting the city, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin made a statement. In his statement, Şahin said, "Currently, there is no serious problem. There is water accumulation in one or two underpasses. The teams are currently intervening there. Hopefully, we will get through this without a serious crisis."
