In a primary school in Bingöl, some students were disturbed by the gas released from the use of snow spray, which is typically used at weddings, in the classroom. 30 students who reported symptoms such as shortness of breath and dizziness were taken to the hospital. It was learned that the health conditions of the students are good.
Fearful moments were experienced at Şehit Mustafa Gündoğdu Primary School in the center of Bingöl during the noon hours. During the break, a student sprayed a canister he brought with him, which is used in weddings and celebrations, in the classroom. Some students were disturbed by the spray. Health teams were dispatched to the school upon the notification of the teachers who noticed the situation.
30 STUDENTS HOSPITALIZED First aid was administered at the school to 30 students affected by the gas released from the snow spray used in the classroom. The students were taken to Bingöl State Hospital by ambulances as a precaution and were treated. It was learned that the health conditions of the students were good.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNORATE In a statement made by the Bingöl Governorate, it was stated that the health conditions of the students were good, and it was noted, "On March 25, 2026, around 10:00, an incident occurred in the 4-B class of Merkez Şehit Mustafa Gündoğdu Primary School; a student used the snow spray he brought with him in the classroom, resulting in some students experiencing complaints such as shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and weakness. Following this, the school administration and teachers intervened immediately, evacuating the students to a safe area and informing the 112 Emergency Health teams. As a result of the evaluations made by the health teams, 30 of our students who were transferred to Bingöl State Hospital have completed the necessary examinations and treatments here, and it has been determined that the general health conditions of our students are good and that none of the students are in life-threatening condition. An administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, and inspections and information activities regarding the presence of such products in school environments will be increased. It is respectfully announced to the public," it was stated.
