According to a report by Poland's PAP agency, an "unidentified object" fell and exploded in a cornfield in the village of Osiny, located in Lukow County in the eastern part of the country. The report indicated that the explosion occurred in an area located 100 kilometers near the Ukrainian border. A statement from the police noted that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident, but some windows of nearby houses were broken as a result of the explosion.
CHARRED METAL AND PLASTIC REMAINS FOUND AT THE SCENE
The statement indicated that charred metal and plastic remains were found at the scene, and it was reported that a large-scale investigation is underway. According to a statement from the Polish Air Operations Center, initial assessments suggest that the object may belong to an old propeller-driven aircraft. The Polish Armed Forces Operations Command also stated that there was no violation of Polish airspace from Ukraine or Belarus, but the airspace is being monitored for security purposes.
