Anadolu Agency's Morning Briefing – Jan. 15, 2022

Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments on the coronavirus pandemic and other news in Turkiye and around the world.
Coronavirus and other developments in Turkiye
Turkiye registered 67,857 new cases, 167 related deaths and 56,256 recoveries in the last 24 hours. To stem the spread of the infection, the country has administered more than 138.82 million coronavirus vaccine doses since it launched an immunization drive in January 2021.
Turkiye marked the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan.
"Today, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the reestablishment of our diplomatic relations with friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The head of a Turkish parliamentary delegation said it wants to represent Turkiye's historical mission and vision in Latin America.
Other developments worldwide
The first meeting of special representatives from Turkiye and Armenia toward normalization was held. The closed-door meeting in Moscow lasted for an hour-and-a-half, according to diplomatic sources.
