Angolan Capital Luanda Decorated With Turkish Flags Ahead Of President Erdogan's Official Visit

Turkish president to start official talks Monday in Angola, 1st stop of his 3 nation African mini tour.

Angolan capital Luanda streets were decorated with Turkish and Angolan flags before the official visit of Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the country.

Erdogan has made 38 visits to 28 African countries, including during his term as prime minister.

This trip is the first official visit from Turkey at the presidential level to Angola.

Before Erdogan's arrival, the flags of the two countries were hung on the streets and roads, including the coastal road.

Erdogan arrived in Angola on Sunday and will start his official talks on Monday.

The Turkish president will be welcomed by his Angolan counterpart Joao Lourenco with an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

The two leaders will hold a joint news conference after one-on-one talks and delegation meetings.

Erdogan is also expected to address Angola's parliament. He will later visit the Memorial of Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto, the country's first president, who died in 1979.

The president later will attend the Angola-Turkey Business Forum organized by Turkey's Foreign Economic Relations Board.

Erdogan's scheduled African tour, including Togo and Nigeria, is considered significant for new cooperation opportunities in Africa.
