SHOCKED TWICE IN A ROW

Veli Tanık, who resides in the Bağbaşı neighborhood of Pamukkale district in Denizli, found rat droppings in the first bread he bought from the Pamukkale Municipality Bağbaşı neighborhood Public Bread booth. Tanık took the bread back to the Public Bread booth and reported the situation to the official selling at the booth, requesting that the matter be communicated to the authorities. After waiting for a week, hoping that the situation would improve following his complaint, Tanık bought bread from the same booth again. When he broke the bread for a meal, he found a flour worm inside this time. The next day, he immediately returned the bread to the booth and submitted photos of the worm to the municipal authorities with a petition.

RAT DROPPINGS AND FLOUR WORMS FOUND IN BREAD

Veli Tanık stated that due to foreign substances found in the bread purchased from Pamukkale Municipality Public Bread, his wife stopped breastfeeding, and the mother could not provide enough milk to feed her baby. "I bought bread from Pamukkale Municipality Public Bread a week ago. Rat droppings were found in the bread I bought. I returned the bread. After the incident, I bought bread again from there a week later, and this time a flour bug came out. When the rat droppings were found, I reported the situation to the authorities with photos. But no one followed up on the incident or contacted me. A week later, when another worm appeared, I tried to reach out again but couldn't. They shamelessly tried to brush off the incident by saying they would give me a new loaf of bread. The fact that worms appeared a week apart is disgusting. My wife just gave birth. Because of this worm and filth that came out of the bread, my wife was disgusted by food and stopped breastfeeding. I did everything to reach them. I returned the bread to show them the problem and to have it resolved. No one followed up on this incident, and no one got back to me. Are these Public Bread bakeries being inspected? Does the Food and Control Directorate and inspectors conduct regular inspections of these bakeries? Do the workers have hygiene certificates? Many questions have arisen in our minds. I am also a pide master, and we deal with flour. We do not offer any product to customers that we do not eat ourselves or are not sure of its hygiene. It saddened us that such a thing happened with the Public Bread service provided by the municipality," he expressed.
