The third player to be excluded from the squad at Fenerbahçe, following İrfan Can Kahveci and Cenk Tosun, is Mert Hakan Yandaş. Journalist Mehmet Demirkol stated that head coach Domenico Tedesco does not want to include Yandaş in the squad.
The waters are not calming down at the Super League giant Fenerbahçe. After the discussions that arose following the match against Samsunspor, team captains İrfan Can Kahveci and Cenk Tosun were indefinitely suspended from the squad.
İrfan Can's fight with Brown in the locker room and Cenk Tosun's reaction to not being substituted by throwing his vest on the ground were the reasons for these decisions.
MERT HAKAN YANDAŞ ALSO SUSPENDED
Journalist Mehmet Demirkol announced in a program that Mert Hakan Yandaş would also be suspended from the squad. Demirkol stated, "Among the players suspended from Fenerbahçe, Mert Hakan Yandaş is also included. I heard this from several sources. Head coach Domenico Tedesco did not want Mert Hakan," he said. Thus, the number of players suspended from the squad in the yellow-navy blue team has risen to three.
SADDETTİN SARAN EMPHASIZES "FAMILY MATTER"
Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran, in a press conference he held yesterday, responded to questions regarding the suspension decisions by saying, "I said we are a family, and I emphasize this whenever I get the chance. Some things happen within a family; a bone may break, but it stays within the family. We made decisions that we believe will be good for Fenerbahçe."
Saran also shared a notable detail regarding Mert Hakan, stating, "I spoke with Mert Hakan. The players trust him in terms of leadership. We did not see any harm in him remaining as captain. We will see a more positive and more beneficial Mert Hakan."
