In Bağcılar, guards who wanted to conduct a routine identity check were attacked by three armed suspects. One guard was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Efforts are ongoing to capture the fleeing assailants.
Three suspicious individuals in Yüzyıl Neighborhood, 2177 Street, located in the Bağcılar district of Istanbul, opened fire on the guards who wanted to conduct a routine identity check and fled the scene. The guard Uğur Gölçek, who was injured in the attack, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention at the scene.
A LARGE NUMBER OF EMPTY SHELLS WERE FOUND
Upon receiving the notification, a large number of police teams were dispatched to the specified address. Crime scene investigation teams collected evidence from the street where the attack took place one by one, and many empty shells were found on the ground in the back streets. Police teams, who closed the side streets and avenues to traffic, obtained security camera footage from nearby businesses to identify the appearance of the fleeing assailants.
THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS
Provincial Police Chief Selami Yıldız came to the hospital to get information about the condition of the injured guard. Following a tip-off that the suspects were near Yüzüncü Yıl Park, a large number of police conducted a search in the area. The interiors of nearby buildings and other places where the suspects could be hiding were checked one by one. Teams patrolled for hours in the areas leading to the park and in the areas where car gallery sites are located. The investigation launched to capture the assailants is continuing in multiple directions.
