POLICE OFFICER INJURED BY ARROW

An assailant in front of the Israeli Embassy in Serbia targeted a police officer responsible for protecting the embassy with an arrow. The Serbian police officer was injured in the neck by the arrow. The injured police officer shot and killed the attacker.

Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated that the police officer is in the hospital and conscious, and will undergo an operation to remove the arrow from his neck. Minister Dacic emphasized that an investigation has been launched into the attack and stated that the police officer fired his weapon in self-defense. It was learned that the embassy is closed today and there are no employees inside.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as an "attempted terrorist attack." The statement used the following words: "Today, an attempted terrorist attack was carried out at the Israeli embassy in Belgrade. A local police officer was injured. The full extent of the incident is being investigated."
