The increasing heat in Adana is overwhelming citizens, creating scenes reminiscent of summer in the city. While thermometers under the sun showed 35 degrees Celsius, people preferred shady spots in parks and green areas to cool off.
TEMPERATURE REACHED 35 DEGREES
According to data from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, the air temperature in Adana was measured at 29 degrees Celsius during midday. However, thermometers under the sun recorded temperatures up to 35 degrees Celsius. Due to the rising heat, most citizens preferred to spend time in parks and wooded areas.
“WE DON’T SEE THIS WEATHER IN GERMANY”
Hamza Erkek, who visited Adana from Germany and rested at Atatürk Park in the central Seyhan district, said the hot weather is enjoyable. Erkek stated, “Even in May, it is very hot here, but it is very pleasant. I prefer air-conditioned places and cafes in the heat. I make sure to wear a hat. The nice hot weather that just started here is like the hottest time in Germany. We don't see this weather there. It is a very enjoyable and joyful season.”
“I LOVE THE FRESH AIR AND FLOWER SCENTS”
Yurdanur Balsoy, 76, who came to the park for a walk, also stated that she loves hot weather. Balsoy expressed that breathing fresh air and the scent of flowers in the park makes her happy.
