China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange gains most, going up 0.89%

Major Asian stock markets closed Tuesday in the green thanks to China's move to ease COVID-19 quarantine measures for overseas travelers.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, gained 18.1 points, or 0.55%, to 3,293 at 1033GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange increased 178.2 points, or 0.66%, to reach 26,050 at the day's close.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, climbed 189.5 points or 0.85%, to 22,419.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange rose the most, going up by 30 points or 0.89%, to 3,409.

The National Health Commission of China on Tuesday decided to cut its COVID-19 quarantine time to seven days for international visitors.

India's Sensex benchmark went up by 16.2 points, or 0.03%, to close at 53,177, while the Singapore index rose 2.7 points, or 0.09%, to 3,140. -
