The Harir Air Base located in the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government was targeted in two separate attacks against US forces in the morning hours. Following the attacks, security measures in the area were increased.
Two attacks were carried out this morning at the Harir Air Base in Erbil, where US forces are located, in the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (IKBY). The attacks that began yesterday between the US-Israel army and Iran continue on their second day. The strategic Harir Air Base, which hosts US forces in Erbil, located in northern Iraq's Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (IKBY), was targeted in two separate attacks early this morning. According to local sources, the first attack on the military base occurred around 04:00 local time, while the second attack was recorded around 08:30. No statement was made regarding the ammunition used.
LOUD EXPLOSION SOUNDS HEARD AROUND THE BASE
While local residents reported hearing loud explosion sounds around the base, it was reported that a large number of ambulances were dispatched to the area. After the attack, security forces established a wide security cordon around the Harir Air Base, and all roads leading to the base were closed to traffic as a precaution. In the region, increased activity of military aircraft and drones was observed.
Harir military airport is one of the most critical military points in northern Iraq, making it one of the primary targets in the escalating tensions in the area.
