President Erdoğan made a statement following the death of Iranian religious leader Ali Khamenei due to an attack by Israel and the USA. Erdoğan said, "I am saddened by Khamenei's passing, and I extend my condolences to the brotherly people of Iran."

President Erdoğan stated, "I was saddened by the passing of Khamenei, and I extend my condolences to the brotherly people of Iran."

ERDOĞAN'S CONDOLENCES MESSAGE FOR KHAMENEI

Iranian State Television announced that Iranian Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei lost his life in the Israel-US attack. During the broadcast, while the Quran was being recited on screen, an announcement was made regarding Khamenei's death. The Cabinet announced that after Khamenei's passing, a 40-day national mourning and a 7-day public holiday were declared across the country.

"I WAS SADDENED BY KHAMENEI'S PASSING"

Following Khamenei's death, the first statement came from President Erdoğan. In a condolence message he shared on his social media account, Erdoğan said: "I was saddened by the loss of our neighbor Iran's Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a result of the attacks that occurred yesterday.

I pray for Mr. Khamenei's soul, extend my condolences to the brotherly people of Iran; and convey my condolences on behalf of my country and my nation."

"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS TO RETURN TO DIPLOMACY"

We will resolutely continue our efforts as Turkey to ensure that all our friends and brothers in the region, along with the people of Iran, regain the peace and stability they deserve, to put an end to the conflict environment in our region, and to return to diplomacy."
