Explosions were heard in succession in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The US Embassy was targeted by Russian-made Katyusha rockets, while the C-RAM air defense system at the embassy was activated during the attack.
As Iran's retaliations continue against the joint attacks initiated by the US and Israel, tense moments are also being experienced in Iraq.
US EMBASSY TARGETED
Recently, consecutive explosion sounds were heard in the capital Baghdad. Images from the region showed that the US Embassy was targeted and the C-RAM air defense system, designed to counter rockets, artillery, and mortars, was activated.
Local media reports, citing security sources, stated that the US Embassy was targeted with Russian-made Katyusha rockets. However, no official statement has been made yet by Iraqi authorities regarding the matter.
US-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN
While negotiations continue between Tehran and Washington, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. In response, Iran targeted certain regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed. Iran's Health Ministry spokesperson, Hossein Kermanpur, announced that 926 people lost their lives in the US-Israel attacks.
