A snow warning has been issued for Istanbul, where air temperatures have started to drop again. The governorship announced that snowfall will begin during the night hours, particularly in 15 districts.

In a statement made on the Istanbul Governorship's social media account, the following was stated: According to the evaluations of the General Directorate of Meteorology; with the air temperatures in our province continuing around seasonal norms, it is expected that starting from the night hours, the temperatures will drop 2 to 4 degrees below seasonal norms. Rainfall, which will begin in the form of rain across the province after this evening (25.02.2026), is expected to turn into mixed rain and light snow in the higher areas in the districts of Çatalca, Silivri, Arnavutköy, Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Büyükçekmece, Esenyurt, Eyüp, Sultangazi, Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, Sarıyer, Beykoz, and Şile until the morning hours.
It is expected that the rainfall will leave our province after noon tomorrow (26.02.2026). The wind is generally expected to come from the northern directions (25.02.2026) at a moderate level, occasionally *strong* (30-50 km/h); the expected lowest air temperature tonight (25.02.2026) is 1°C, and the expected highest air temperature tomorrow (26.02.2026) is 8°C. Caution and preparedness should be taken against negative impacts such as disruptions in transportation, roof blow-offs, and tree falls due to the storm.
