The Turkish State Meteorological Service issued a yellow code heavy rain warning for 30 cities on Saturday, June 13. While rainy and cool weather is expected to affect most of the country over the weekend, temperatures are forecast to drop by 5 to 7 degrees in eastern regions. As of Monday, June 15, the rainy weather is expected to give way to sunny summer days again.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has published the weather report for Saturday, June 13, 2026. According to the latest assessments, showers and thunderstorms are expected across most of the country.
Intermittent rainfall is forecast for the Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, inland parts of the Black Sea, northern and western Eastern Anatolia, and the areas around Zonguldak, Bartın, Ordu, Giresun, Gaziantep, Kilis, and eastern Van.
YELLOW CODE ALERT FOR 30 CITIES
Meteorology has issued a yellow code warning for 30 cities due to heavy rainfall. The warned provinces include Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Adana, Çanakkale, Denizli, Konya, Kayseri, Sivas, Tokat, Osmaniye, and Karaman.
The provinces under yellow code warning are as follows:
Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Aydın, Burdur, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Çorum, Denizli, Edirne, Eskişehir, Isparta, Mersin, Kayseri, Kırşehir, Konya, Kütahya, Manisa, Nevşehir, Niğde, Sivas, Tokat, Uşak, Yozgat, Aksaray, Kırıkkale, Osmaniye, and Karaman.
HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED IN INLAND REGIONS
Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in inland Aegean, inland Mediterranean, most of Central Anatolia, southern Edirne, and around Çanakkale, Osmaniye, Çorum, and Tokat.
Authorities have warned to be cautious against flash floods, waterlogging, lightning, local hail, and disruptions in transportation.
STRONG WINDS EXPECTED
Winds are expected to blow strongly from the north in Marmara, northern Aegean coasts, and western Eastern Anatolia. Wind speeds are estimated to reach 40-60 kilometers per hour in some places.
TEMPERATURES DROP IN THE EAST
It has been reported that air temperatures will decrease by 5 to 7 degrees in eastern regions, while no significant change is expected in other areas.
SUMMER WEATHER WILL RETURN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK
Following the cool and rainy weather over the weekend, temperatures are expected to rise again from Monday, June 15. In and around Istanbul, sunny weather is expected to intensify after noon on Monday, with temperatures rising again to 29-30 degrees Celsius.
