Attention to those considering buying a car! There is a reduction in Special Consumption Tax (SCT) for rechargeable hybrid vehicles.

The Special Consumption Tax reduction expected for rechargeable hybrid vehicles has been published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.

With the regulation, Special Consumption Tax (SCT) incentives will be provided for hybrid vehicles with a rechargeable range of over 70 kilometers.

SCT RATE WILL VARY BETWEEN 30% AND 70%

The SCT rates for rechargeable hybrid vehicles with carbon dioxide emissions below 25 grams and an electric range of 70 km or more will vary between 30% and 70%.

Accordingly;

• For vehicles with an engine cylinder capacity not exceeding 1600 cm3 and an SCT base exceeding 1,350,000 TL, a 60% SCT will be applied,
• For vehicles with an engine cylinder capacity exceeding 1600 cm3 but not exceeding 1800 cm3 and an SCT base not exceeding 1,350,000 TL, a 70% SCT will be applied.

The new regulation will be valid as of today.

WHICH CARS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS SCOPE?

Not all Plug-in Hybrid vehicles meet the requirements. BYD Seal U DM-i will be subject to a 30% SCT, while BMW X1 xDrive30e and DS-9 OPERA E-TENSE 250 models will fall into the 60% SCT bracket. The previous SCT rates for these vehicles were 80%.

HOW MUCH WILL THE PRICES DECREASE?

Since the list price of BYD Seal U DM-i is not known, it is not possible to calculate the reduction, but it is clear that BYD will receive the highest reduction. BYD, which announced a major investment in Turkey, is being sold at 2 million 150 thousand TL for zero-kilometer vehicles on classified ad websites. If we assume that dealers will offer this price, it is expected that the new price will be around 1 million 320 thousand TL. Accordingly, it is expected that the price of BMW X1 xDrive30e will decrease from 4 million 87 thousand TL to around 3 million 632 thousand 887 TL. It is also expected that the price of DS 9 OPÉRA E-TENSE 250, which is currently 4 million 478 thousand 100 TL, will decrease to 3 million 980 thousand 532 TL with the new regulation.
