Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, who announced the development, stated the following in his statement on X; "All questions in the central exam for our 8th-grade students within the scope of LGS will be prepared in accordance with the topics and achievements included in the curriculum. I wish our students ease in their studies."
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL THE LGS EXAM HAVE?
No changes are expected in the exam system in 2026. LGS will again be conducted in two sessions:
The first session (Verbal): It will consist of Turkish, History of the Republic of Turkey and Kemalism, Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, and Foreign Language courses.
The second session (Quantitative): It will consist of Mathematics and Science courses.
WHEN WILL LGS APPLICATIONS BE ACCEPTED?
The Ministry of National Education will publish the exam calendar and application guide on its official website as it does every year. Students will be able to apply through the e-School system.
HOW LONG WILL THE LGS EXAM LAST?
In the 2026 LGS, the verbal session is planned to last 75 minutes, while the quantitative session is planned to last 80 minutes. A total of 90 questions will be included in the exams.
- There will be 50 questions in the verbal session
- There will be 40 questions in the quantitative session.
