While fluctuations in Brent crude oil prices continue, gasoline and diesel prices are also varying with news of discounts and price increases. Starting from Saturday, a 1 lira increase in gasoline prices is expected, which will push the price of gasoline in Istanbul above 54 liras per liter, while in the capital city Ankara, it will approach the 55 lira mark.
Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency exchange rates.
Starting from Saturday, a 1 TL increase in gasoline prices is expected, and with the price increase reflected at the pump, the price of gasoline in Istanbul will exceed 54 TL, while in the capital Ankara, it will approach the 55 TL mark.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.
EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES
After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that explains changes in prices, the union announced that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is concluded.
