"MY LOVE FOR PINK HAS BEEN SINCE CHILDHOOD"

Sakine Akkul, 75, who lives in the Sav district of Isparta, paints everything she finds pink. Sakine aunt, who paints every detail of her house pink, attracts attention with her pink house. Akkul, who said that her pink love started in her childhood, stated that she used to ask her mother and father for pink items when she was little. Akkul said, "When I was 4-5 years old, I used to ask my mother for pink pieces of cloth, and I used to sew them. I wouldn't accept any other color. My love for pink has been since those times. When my father used to buy us clothes for the holidays, I would ask for a pink sweater. I would say that I wouldn't wear it if it was another color, and he would buy my clothes in pink," she said.

Sakine aunt, who says that she wants everything to be pink because she loves the color so much, said, "I feel like painting. I painted my house myself. I want to paint everything that comes into my hands pink, I can't stop painting. I can't sleep when I don't paint. When I buy pink paint, I feel relieved. My son says, 'Mom, you're sick, don't do this at this age,' but I say, 'Son, I can't stop, my body feels relieved when I paint.' If I could, I would paint everything, every place. If I could, I would paint my son and daughter pink, and I would look at them pink. Because I love it so much," she said.

HER PINK LOVE INCREASED AFTER HER HUSBAND'S DEATH

Akkul, who said that she painted her house pink 9 years ago, said, "My house had pink color 9 years ago, but it wasn't this much. After my husband passed away, I fell even more in love with pink. I started to console myself by painting my house pink. I started to occupy myself in this way," she said.

"THEY CAME TO SEE MY HOUSE FROM ANKARA"

Akkul, who said that there are people who come from outside the city to see her pink house, said, "The other day, they came from Ankara to see my house. Many women in Ankara know me. There are people coming from everywhere, even from Antalya. They ask me why I love pink so much. They say that they have never seen a house like this in Sav. They ask me how I did this house, if I got tired. I say that it comes from within me, I can't sleep if I don't paint. They say, 'MashaAllah, we have never seen a woman like you,'" she said.

Talking about her dreams that she wants to realize in the future, Sakine aunt said, "I can't buy paint like before. If I could buy paint, I would paint everything, make it like heaven. I would paint the front and back of the house, everything. If I could, I would paint the Sav town," she said.

SHE ANNOUNCED HER WILL

Akkul, who said that she left wills for her children regarding her house, said, "I tell my children that if I die, these decorations should remain like this, hang two or three of them on my grave. If I keep painting until I die, they will hang two or three of them, the rest will remain. I say that no one should touch them, and everyone who comes to the house should remember me for doing these things. My tombstone should be bright pink, like the entrance door of my house. Everyone should look at my grave. My children will do it. My most valuable thing is pink," she said.
