As part of the Gezi Park investigation, it was ruled that manager Ayşe Barım, who has been detained since January 27, should be released under judicial control measures of "prohibition from leaving her residence" and "travel ban." The decision was met with joy by artists in the courthouse corridor, as well as Barım's relatives and lawyers.
Manager Ayşe Barım, who was arrested as part of the Gezi Park investigation, appeared before the judge for the second time in the case where she is being tried for "aiding and abetting an attempt to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey or to partially or completely prevent it from performing its duties by using force and violence."
COURT RELEASE DECISION
The defendant Barım and her lawyers attended the hearing at the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court. Many famous names were also present in the audience. After Barım's defense was taken, the court announced its interim decision.
The panel decided to release the defendant with the judicial control conditions of "not leaving the residence" and "prohibition of leaving the country," reasoning that the expected benefit of detention could also be achieved through judicial control, considering the reports regarding Barım's brain and heart conditions, the findings related to the aneurysm in the existing reports, the conclusions in the report of the Forensic Medicine Institution, the proposed treatments and procedures, and the duration of her detention.

The decision was met with joy by the artists in the courthouse, Barım's relatives, and her lawyers. In the moments captured on camera, it was seen that some people could not hold back their tears, while others were chanting slogans.
The next hearing in the case will be held on February 11, 2026.
