Bahçeli: It is time to give a strong ultimatum to Israel, including military options.

The leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, made a scathing statement regarding Israel, which continues its genocide in Gaza. Bahçeli said, "The patience of the Turkish nation has run out. If Islamic countries or the United Nations cannot prevent Israel's attacks, then the voice of history must be heeded. It is time to issue a strong ultimatum against Israel, including military options."

The leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, launched a strong verbal attack on Israel. Bahçeli stated that if Islamic countries and the UN cannot prevent Israel's genocide in Gaza, Turkey must intervene, calling for a "military option."

BAHCELI'S "ISRAEL" STATEMENT

In statements made to TRT News, Bahçeli used the following expressions: "The genocide perpetrated by Israel in Palestine, especially in Gaza, continues mercilessly. From the very beginning, Turkey has pursued a sensitive and rational policy to make Israel abandon this oppression, support the oppressed Palestinian people, and achieve lasting peace, tranquility, and security through a two-state solution by recognizing Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem, within the 1967 borders. The policies that Turkey has articulated and defended with care on every platform are commendable.

"ISRAEL IS THE BIGGEST SECURITY THREAT IN THE REGION"

Indeed, while Turkey serves as the spokesperson and defender of peace in the Middle East, Israel has emerged as the biggest security threat in the region. Israel stands against Turkey in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. Every structure and group that is an enemy of Turkey is being exploited by Israel. It seems that Israel has entered into a proxy war against Turkey in this geography.

"ISRAEL'S ULTIMATE TARGET IS TURKEY"

The "Terror-Free Turkey" initiative, which was launched as a state policy and received widespread support from the public, has revealed Israel's animosity towards Turkey. It is no coincidence that Israel appears against us everywhere, in Syria, the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus, and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Israel's ultimate target is Turkey, and its policy of encircling us does not escape our notice.

When this situation is evaluated together with the genocide and injustices it perpetrates, it is unsustainable for us, and if Israel does not abandon this expansionist attitude, retaliation according to international law seems inevitable.

"International law has been openly violated, and United Nations resolutions have been disregarded"

Since October 7, 2023, one of the heaviest massacres that the world and humanity have rarely witnessed, even bordering on genocide, has devastated Gaza. As a result of Israel's unjust, unlawful, and inhumane attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the number of people who have lost their lives has reached at least 65,344, and the number of injured has reached 166,795 by September 22, 2025.

No stone has been left unturned in Gaza, and people, including babies, children, women, and civilians, have been slaughtered without distinction. Crimes against humanity that are indescribable and intolerable have been committed before the eyes of the world. International law has been openly violated, and United Nations resolutions have been disregarded.

On September 9, 2025, during ceasefire talks in Doha, Qatar, with Hamas and including Egypt, the building where the delegation members were meeting was bombed by Israel. It has once again become clear that Israel does not want a ceasefire or peace, seeks to escalate chaos and conflict, and can even target countries that are supposedly allies of the US, which is mediating for peace, and has the intent of genocide against all Palestinians.

In response to these developments, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an extraordinary meeting in Doha, Qatar, on September 15, 2025. In this meeting, Israel was strongly condemned, and a 25-point joint declaration was published against Israel.

The evaluations made are aimed at condemning the massacres that Israel has carried out in Gaza. In contrast, the strong evaluation regarding the need for political and economic sanctions to stop Israel and to strengthen the defense industry was made by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan among the 57 countries participating in the meeting.

While aiming to provide regional deterrence in this way, it has been evaluated that a principle similar to NATO's Article 5, "an attack on one is considered an attack on all," could turn into a concrete defense mechanism within the OIC and the Arab League.

Immediately after the announcement of the decisions from the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, on the morning of September 16, Israel launched a comprehensive ground operation in Gaza. It has initiated a campaign to completely sweep Gaza, where no stone has been left unturned.

"Everyone should evaluate Turkey's proposal for a joint defense force against Israel"

In order to end the crimes against humanity, the genocide, and the injustices in Gaza, first and foremost, countries that openly or covertly support Israel, especially the US, must abandon their double standards and their desire to leave Israel with a maneuvering space in every statement.

The shame of the 21st century, the disgrace of humanity, approaches that destroy every kind of human and moral virtue, including babies, women, and the elderly, must come to an immediate end. Turkey's proposal for a joint defense force against Israel should be seriously evaluated and supported by everyone, especially Islamic countries.

The need for a security and defense organization similar to NATO, which the West is trying to maintain against Russia, has been clearly demonstrated by Israel's attacks. In response to this need, the "Jerusalem Pact" proposed by our Party should be implemented immediately, and the security of Islamic countries should not be left to the mercy and initiative of any country; in such situations, Islamic countries must operate a common security mechanism to eliminate hands reaching out to Islam and our sacred values in cooperation and coordination.

In the vote held in the United Nations General Assembly on September 12, 2025, for the two-state solution to the Palestinian issue, 148 states voted in favor of Palestine, while 10 states, including the US, voted against, and 12 states abstained. However, just as it does not recognize past UN resolutions, Israel also does not recognize this decision, which is a clear warning to it.

The international system, however, is unable to intervene and remains powerless. The UN system, which was established under the conditions of 1945 and is far from reflecting current international balances, is virtually in a state of collapse. International peace and security are increasingly at risk from "rogue states" like Israel.

"The security of Palestine is the security of Turkey"

Palestinians are being forcibly removed from their homes, lands, and nests. Where our Palestinian brothers will live is not a matter that anyone, any country can determine. To uproot the oppressed from their land, to separate the land from its rightful owners living on it, is a crime and a scandal with a very heavy cost and burden. Let alone removing the Palestinian people from their lands or forcibly displacing them, even expressing this is a summary of an illegal, inhumane, and immoral attitude.

It should not be forgotten that the security of Palestine is the security of Turkey. The recognition of the State of Palestine is the key to global peace and tranquility.

The patience of the Turkish nation has run out. If Islamic countries or the United Nations cannot prevent Israel's attacks, then the voice of history must be heeded, and the Turkish nation, which knows the spirit and fabric of Palestine and the city of civilizations, Jerusalem, must step in for a new vigil.

The tragedy of genocide must come to an end. The USA must not evade its historical, legal, and humanitarian responsibilities any longer. The genocidal Israel must withdraw unconditionally from the occupied Palestinian territories and must respect the spiritual and historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The policies of our esteemed President and his Cabinet, which convey the reality of Palestine and Gaza to the world with humanitarian, moral, and ethical consistency, must continue uninterrupted.

All peaceful tools of foreign policy, including diplomacy, have been exhausted by the Netanyahu government. Israel has directly attacked Syria, Yemen, Iran, Qatar, and Palestine, and has effectively violated the territories and/or airspaces of Iraq, Jordan, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia. With such reckless aggression, Israel is actually only escalating hostility and undermining its own security.

The USA has stood alongside or behind Israel in all these attacks and has become complicit in these crimes. Therefore, the Islamic world must respond more strongly to the USA and Israel.

It is essential to wisely use the economic leverage tools over the USA. It would be appropriate not to leave the governments that react to Israel from the Western world alone and to cooperate with them on this issue.

It is necessary to create a peace corridor in the Eastern Mediterranean. This is essential not only for the region but also for world peace and tranquility.

The first condition for this is a two-state solution based on the 1967 conditions. The second condition is for the imperialist powers to end their proxy wars in the region and to refrain from destabilizing the area with subcontractor terrorist organizations.

Both the New York Declaration and the issues presented at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League are valuable steps taken in the right direction. However, words alone are not enough to stop either Israel or its main supporter, the USA.

It is now time to give a firm ultimatum to Israel, including military options. Our urgent expectation is for Netanyahu and his cabinet to declare an immediate ceasefire, withdraw their soldiers from Palestinian territories without delay, and compensate for the destruction they have caused. The hunger crisis must be urgently addressed, and the path for humanitarian aid must be opened without limits and immediately.

Otherwise, it should be known that Israel will become a legitimate target under the guise of "humanitarian intervention." It must be declared that Turkey will act in the name of humanity in this situation and will not shy away from taking necessary actions. A strong message in this direction should be announced in front of all world leaders at the UN General Assembly, and a final warning should be given to Israel. This warning should also be made by countries claiming to represent Western civilization alongside all Islamic countries.
