In his address to the world at the United Nations General Assembly, President Erdoğan displayed several photos to draw attention to the oppression in Gaza. With tears in his eyes, Erdoğan asked, "As Tayyip Erdoğan, I say this with a heavy heart. Which conscience can remain silent in the face of this?"
President Erdoğan, speaking at the UN General Assembly, stated, "I thank all countries that have announced they will recognize the State of Palestine, and I call on those states that have not yet made this decision to take action as soon as possible."
THE MOMENT HIS EYES FILLED WITH TEARS: I SAY THIS WITH A HEAVY HEART
Continuing his remarks, Erdoğan drew attention to Israel's brutality in Gaza and showed some photos from the podium. With tears in his eyes, Erdoğan said, "As Tayyip Erdoğan, I say this with a heavy heart. Unfortunately, the innocent little ones, who are only 2-3 years old, with no hands, arms, or legs, have today become a common sight in Gaza. Which conscience can remain silent to this? Can there be peace in a world where children are dying?"
"CHILDREN'S HANDS, ARMS, LEGS..."
Continuing his remarks, Erdoğan said, "We have children that we cherish." He added, "Here, in America, in Europe, everywhere in the world, if a small thorn pricks a child's hand, the hearts of their parents ache. But in Gaza, children's hands, arms, and legs are amputated without anesthesia. No one should take offense, but this is the lowest point of humanity. Humanity has not witnessed such brutality in the last century."
