PEZEŞKİYAN CALLS FOR NATIONAL UNITY
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made statements in Parliament regarding Israel's ongoing attacks. Pezeshkian said, "The enemy cannot remove us and the nation from the scene by beating, killing, and organizing assassinations. Because for every hero whose flag falls, there are hundreds of other heroes who will take up the flag and stand against the oppression, injustice, crime, and treason committed by these cowards."
"WE ARE NOT AFTER NUCLEAR WEAPONS"
Pezeshkian stated that the Iranians are not aggressive and that his government is negotiating with the U.S. regarding the nuclear program, saying, "We are not after nuclear weapons. We have no intention of possessing such weapons."
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO ENRICH URANIUM"
However, Pezeshkian asserted that Iran has the "right to benefit from nuclear energy," promising that the country will continue to enrich uranium for energy purposes. Highlighting the dangers created by the conflict with Israel, Pezeshkian called on the public to set aside problems and differences and unite. He stated, "We must set aside our differences. We need to stand strong against the aggression of the genocidal and criminal enemy."
CALL TO THE PUBLIC: "ENTER SHELTERS"
The Israeli army emphasized that after alarms are heard, citizens should enter safe shelters and remain there until further notice. Emergency alerts on mobile phones also sounded in the direction missiles were approaching.
Shortly after the attack, the Israeli army announced that following an assessment of the situation after the missiles fired from Iran, citizens could leave the shelters. The Home Front Command reported that it was allowed to leave the protected areas.
NETANYAHU: REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN MAY BE POSSIBLE AT THE END OF THE WAR
Netanyahu stated that the attacks on Iran could lead to a regime change. He said, "Tehran is burning. We are determined to complete the mission. Israel's attacks targeting Iranian leadership could make regime change possible in Iran. Our intelligence shows that Iran wants to transfer nuclear weapons to the Houthis. We have now killed the head of the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence and his deputy in Tehran.
The Iranian people will now decide whether to rebel or not. We destroyed the Isfahan reactor; without that facility, it is impossible for them to develop nuclear weapons. We will continue our mission to eliminate Iran's dual threat stemming from its nuclear program and ballistic missiles."
TRUMP: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR US TO INTERVENE IN THE WAR
Trump made a statement to ABC News regarding the Israel-Iran conflict. Speaking to Rachel Scott from ABC News, Trump stated that the U.S. is not currently involved in the Israel-Iran conflict, saying, "However, it is possible for us to intervene." Trump also emphasized that he is "open" to Russian President Vladimir Putin mediating in the conflict, stating, "He is ready. He called me. We talked at length."
