Bayraktar TB3 UAV successfully completed its flight test from TCG ANADOLU. Marking a first in the history of aviation, the Bayraktar TB3 became the first UAV to take off and land from a short runway on a ship.
IT TRANSFERRED BY FLYINGCompleting ramp tests successfully, Bayraktar TB3 PT1 and PT2 took off from the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne, and transferred to Dalaman Air Base a few days ago. In the ongoing work here, Bayraktar TB3 PT1 successfully passed the "Approach Tests" by performing close flights to TCG ANADOLU both at night and during the day. HISTORICAL TESTBayraktar TB3 PT2, which completed its tests on the ship from open sea, successfully took off from the short runway with a 12-degree incline of TCG Anadolu on November 19. Performing a 46-minute test flight at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean, Bayraktar TB3 then successfully landed on the same short runway without using any landing support equipment. This test flight opened the doors to a new era in both aviation and maritime history. TO THE HIGHEST WITH LOCAL ENGINEBayraktar TB3 UAV successfully completed the High Altitude System Performance Test, reaching an altitude of 36,310 feet during a flight conducted on June 25, 2024, at the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne. The national UAV, which took off with the locally developed PD-170 engine by TEI, thus passed another critical threshold. The altitude record in our national aviation history belongs to the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, which was developed nationally and uniquely by Baykar, with a height of 45,118 feet. SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED RAMP TESTSBayraktar TB3 UAV first took off from the ramp on June 1, 2024, during tests that started in Tekirdağ Çorlu and continued at the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne. There is a ramp with a 12-degree incline built to the same specifications as the conditions on the deck of TCG Anadolu, where Bayraktar TB3 will be deployed in Keşan. The test campaign is progressing successfully, and Bayraktar TB3 is now ready to board the ship with successful ramp tests. TOTAL FLIGHT OVER 700 HOURSBayraktar TB3 UAV has spent more than 700 hours in the air during the test flights conducted so far. The national UAV remained in the air for 32 hours without landing during a long flight test conducted on December 20, 2023, covering a distance of 5,700 km in the sky. NATIONAL UAV, NATIONAL CAMERABayraktar TB3 UAV flew for the first time on March 26, 2024, with the ASELFLIR-500, which was developed nationally by Aselsan. In the conducted test, the integration of the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System, which has the highest performance compared to its counterparts in the world, was successfully achieved. OVERSEAS POWER BOOSTERBayraktar TB3 UAV will be a leading unmanned aerial vehicle in its class with its foldable wing structure and capabilities. The national UAV will also have beyond-line-of-sight communication capabilities, allowing it to be controlled from very long distances. Thus, it will carry out reconnaissance-surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions against overseas targets with its smart munitions, providing a multiplier effect in Turkey's deterrent power.
