In Bursa, 30-year-old Caner Yaşa was shot in the head with a single bullet by 32-year-old Evren Akbaba, who had a feud with him, while he was getting into his truck in front of his house, accused of not paying his debt. He passed away yesterday in the hospital where he had been receiving treatment for 8 months.
The incident in Bursa occurred on June 26 last year around 09:00 in the Yıldırım district, Yunusemre neighborhood, on Yeşilinciler Street. Evren Akbaba (32) allegedly went to the street where 30-year-old Caner Yaşa's house is located, waiting for him to come out due to a feud over a debt issue.
SHOT IN THE HEAD WITH A GUN As Yaşa came out of his house and got into his parked truck, he was shot in the head by Akbaba, who approached from behind.
SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY Upon the notification of the surrounding people, a medical team was dispatched to the scene. Caner Yaşa was taken to Bursa High Specialization Training and Research Hospital by ambulance and was treated in intensive care. The suspect was captured and taken into custody by the police.
RAN UP, SHOT, AND THEN FLED Meanwhile, the incident was captured by the security camera of a nearby business. The footage showed Caner Yaşa walking down the street after leaving his house and being shot by Evren Akbaba as he got into his truck, and the suspect was seen fleeing quickly after the incident. The panic experienced by those sitting in a nearby café was also reflected in the footage.
HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INVESTING HIS MONEY AND GIVING PROFITS In his statement at the police station, Evren Akbaba said, "I gave him a total of 470,000 TL in pieces of 20,000 TL, 30,000 TL, and gold. He was investing my money and giving me returns. For example, I would give him 50,000 TL. A month later, he would pay me a profit margin of 15,000 TL. He hasn't given me my rightful profit for 3 months. After that, I asked Caner for my principal amount of 475,000 TL. He kept stalling me and then said, 'Who would believe you have money with me? I already have everything. You don't even have a witness to say that you gave me money.' On the day of the incident, when I saw Caner getting into the truck, I went to him to talk. When I called him 'Brother,' he made a move to the side. I suspected he would take out a gun. I took out the gun I had in my pocket, fired a shot, and then ran away. I didn't see if he was injured or not. I regret it." In his interrogation at the police station, the suspect stated that he found the gun he used in the incident in the trash 3 days prior and was arrested at the courthouse.
DIED 8 MONTHS LATER Caner Yaşa, who underwent 16 different surgeries in 8 months at the High Specialization Training and Research Hospital, passed away yesterday. His body was taken by his relatives and buried in tears at the Erdoğan Village Cemetery in Kestel after the funeral prayer.
