Sipay Bodrum FK announced that Jose Morais has been appointed as the head coach after parting ways with Volkan Demirel.
Bodrum FK has appointed Portuguese coach Jose Morais as the head coach. Morais and his team, with whom an agreement has been reached until the end of the season, have conducted their first training session.
The green-and-white team entrusted the coaching position to Morais after parting ways with Volkan Demirel a few days ago. The experienced coach took to the field with the team during the training held this evening. Morais will be in charge of the team for the match against Göztepe, which will take place in Bodrum on Monday, February 10.
Who is Morais?
After his playing career, the 59-year-old Morais stepped into coaching and has worked with many important teams in Europe and Asia. Having served as an assistant coach at Inter, Real Madrid, Porto, and Chelsea as part of Jose Mourinho's staff, Morais has also coached in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey.
Morais was in charge of Antalyaspor in 2016 and most recently managed the Iranian team Sepahan from 2022 to 2024. During this period, Morais competed in the AFC Champions League, won the Iran Cup, and played at the top of the league.
In his career, Morais has won the South Korea League 1 Cup twice, the South Korea Cup once, the Saudi Arabia Pro League Cup once, the Saudi Arabia Super Cup once, and the Iran Cup once. He will begin a new challenge in the Süper Lig with Bodrum FK. - MUĞLA
