Security measures were increased on the South Campus and police were dispatched to the campus due to the protest of students reacting to the relocation of student club rooms at Boğaziçi University.
Students protesting against the decision to vacate the rooms belonging to student clubs at Boğaziçi University and move them to more distant areas have initiated a demonstration. Due to the protests, strict security measures were taken at the South Campus.
POLICE DEPLOYED TO THE CAMPUS
Following the decision made by the university administration, students gathered at the South Campus to oppose the removal of the areas where they conduct club activities. In response to the developments, a large number of police teams were dispatched to the campus. Tensions occasionally rose at the university, and teams intervened with the students.
SECURITY MEASURES INCREASED
On the campus where protests continued, security forces took extensive measures both around and inside the campus. It was observed that police barriers were set up at certain points of the South Campus.
