2 PEOPLE KILLED
In the incident, 2 people lost their lives, and 24 others were injured. Following the attack, a large number of soldiers were deployed to the area. Colombia's Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez Suarez stated in a post on the X social media platform that the attack was carried out by rebel groups linked to the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
“THEY SHOWED THAT THEY REJECTED PARTICIPATION IN PEACE”
Suarez emphasized that the attack would not go unpunished, stating, "The actions of the FARC rebels are indicative of drug trafficking and terrorism. These groups, which opposed the peace agreement in 2016, have once again shown that they reject participation in total peace by killing women, conscripting children, and terrorizing the public."
Huila Governor Rodrigo Villalba condemned the attack in a statement made via X, expressing his condolences to the families of the deceased.
