Borsa Istanbul Up By 0.84% At Tuesday Open

BIST 100 index earns 12.85 points from previous close while Turkish lira gains value against foreign currencies.

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,549.04 points on Tuesday, up 0.84% or 12.85 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreased by 0.29% and closed at 1,536.19 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of 34 billion Turkish liras (nearly $4.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 7.4530 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 7.5140 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 9.0640 from 9.1280, while one British pound traded for 10.0990 Turkish liras, down from 10.1490.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $55.90 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
