In a major operation organized in 7 provinces centered in Antalya, 27 suspects were detained for unlawfully transferring 80 Treasury lands in Kemer, causing 10 billion TRY in damage to the public. In the shocking wiretap recordings that entered the investigation file, it was revealed that the suspects were bargaining over bribes and land, saying, 'Arrange a perfect burned-out place for me' and 'If he brought the trust, let me come.' Precautionary measures were placed on the assets of the suspects, including the Land Registry Director, National Real Estate personnel, and mukhtars.

Shocking wiretap recordings among the suspects have left their mark on the investigation file that exposed a massive treasury land rent scheme worth up to 10 billion Turkish Liras, which was uncovered in operations across 7 provinces centered on Antalya. In the scandal involving 27 suspects, including a Land Registry Director and National Real Estate personnel, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek revealed the details of the operation.

The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which determined that 80 valuable treasury properties in the Kemer district of Antalya were illegally appropriated, has carried out one of the largest land rent operations in the history of the Republic. The wiretap recordings (CMK 135), captured through the technical and physical surveillance of security forces, have revealed how public resources were converted into personal wealth.

SCANDALOUS DIALOGUES IN THE OFFICIAL RECORDS

The phone traffic between Gökhan Kaya, identified as the founder and leader of the organization in the investigation file, and the other suspects has revealed the extent of the wrongdoing. In the conversations reflected in the communication interception records, it was noted that one suspect asked Gökhan Kaya, "Set me up with a perfectly burnt [cheap] piece of land if you find one," requesting land with high rent potential, and Kaya responded, "I'll arrange it... If something comes up, we'll get it for you." Furthermore, in the continuation of the conversation, it was recorded that National Real Estate personnel Yunus Fesli's transfer of an extremely valuable property of approximately 700 square meters in Ovacık to his own name for a ridiculous price of only 15,000 TL was cited as a "success story."

"WE ACTED BASED ON DECLARATIONS, I WASN'T CHECKING"

In another conversation regarding the fraud carried out under the guise of discounted agricultural treasury sales, gang leader Gökhan Kaya was found to have confessed, "We acted based on declarations without verifying the citizen's [claims]... I wasn't looking, I wasn't verifying..."

In other wiretap recordings included in the investigation file, the bribery traffic between public personnel and the civilian network was documented with the following words:

  • "The deposit is with you, you follow up on it."
  • "I'm on it, brother, no problem."
  • "Has he brought the deposit? If he has, I'll come over."

LAND REGISTRY DIRECTOR AND MUKHTARS DETAINED

After examining MASAK and land registry data, simultaneous raids were carried out at 21 addresses in Antalya's Kemer, Kepez, and Konyaaltı districts, as well as in Adana, Burdur, Isparta, and Nevşehir. 27 suspects, including National Real Estate officials, a Land Registry Director, current and former neighborhood mukhtars, and civilian transaction trackers, were taken into custody.

MINISTER GÜRLEK: STATE PROPERTY IS THE NATION'S RIGHT

After the operation, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, in a written statement, said that no tolerance would be shown to those who exploit public resources for their personal interests, stating: "I want to particularly emphasize our determination regarding the protection of public resources, the safeguarding of our nation's rights, and ensuring that public power is in no way turned into a tool for personal gain. State property is the common right of our nation. Whoever uses public office for personal benefit or acts as an intermediary for it, regardless of who they are, will be held accountable before the law."

Proceedings, including preventing the sale of the 80 treasury properties worth approximately 10 billion TL and placing precautionary measures on all assets of the suspects, are being carried out meticulously.
