Last year, 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci while driving without a license in Istanbul, and his mother Eylem Tok were captured and arrested in the USA after fleeing Turkey. In the scandal that remained in the headlines for months, the suspect's father, the famous aesthetic surgeon Bülent Cihantimur, was also frequently mentioned. It was claimed that Cihantimur left a woman paralyzed in the latest incident.
'HE PLACED THE SILICONE UNDER THE MUSCLE, NOT UNDER THE SKIN'
According to a report by Batuhan Altınbaş from Sabah; in an incident alleged to have occurred in 2022, a woman named Z.T. who applied to Bülent Cihantimur for aesthetic surgery became wheelchair-bound after the operation. The woman, who had a device implanted in her shoulder, recounted her experience as follows:
"Bülent Cihantimur performed hip prosthesis surgery on me in 2022, and I woke up with both of my legs paralyzed after the surgery. The silicone, which was supposed to be placed under the skin, was placed under the muscle, leading to severe sciatic nerve damage due to a doctor's mistake, and this resulted in severe sciatic nerve damage. Due to the excruciating pain related to the severe sciatic nerve damage, it was decided to implant a device in my spine for life, and this device is worth a fortune.
'THERE ARE REPORTS INDICATING DOCTOR ERROR'
Its current value is approximately 1.5 million TL, and this surgery needs to be renewed every 6 years for life. I underwent physical therapy for years, and I have to continue my life as a disabled individual, living with a device in my spine. I am prohibited from getting pregnant, driving a car, exercising, and many similar activities for the rest of my life. Bülent Cihantimur discharged me from the hospital, and it is stated in all the reports that my condition is due to a doctor's mistake. After the device was implanted in my spine, my paralyzed leg broke because I did not receive physical therapy, and I attempted suicide."
WILL FILE A COMPENSATION LAWSUIT
The woman filed a complaint against Cihantimur, and since no agreement could be reached between the parties, it was decided to appoint a mediator. However, the mediator also did not provide a solution. Since no agreement could be reached between the parties, it is expected that a lawsuit for material and moral compensation will be filed against Cihantimur.
