While a ceasefire was declared in the clashes in the city of Suwayda, Syria, Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli called for the assassination of Syrian President Ahmed Shara. Chikli equated the Syrian government with Hamas. On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a warning by recalling the airstrikes carried out in Suwayda, stating, "I hope we won't have to do more."

Two days ago, armed clashes began in Sweida after Druze groups seized some vehicles belonging to Bedouin Arab tribes. As the parties mutually kidnapped and detained some civilians, the clashes intensified, resulting in at least 100 deaths and 200 injuries.

In response, units affiliated with the Ministries of Defense and Interior had dispatched a large number of soldiers and military reinforcements to the region to stop the clashes. In attacks on the convoys belonging to the Ministries of Defense and Interior, 18 soldiers lost their lives, and 9 soldiers were taken hostage.

ISRAEL HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN THE CLASHES

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz defended the attacks on southern Syria with the words, "We will not allow harm to the Druze, Israel will not stand by." Following this statement, Israel carried out a total of five airstrikes near the convoys of the units affiliated with the Ministries of Defense and Interior stationed around the province of Sweida.

Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli called for the assassination of President Ahmed Shara following the events in southern Syria. In a statement made on his X account, Chikli said, "If he looks like Hamas, speaks like Hamas, and acts like Hamas, then he is Hamas," equating the Syrian regime with Hamas.

Chikli, who described the Syrian regime as a "caliphate," claimed that "Anyone who thinks Ahmed Shara is a legitimate leader is very mistaken. He needs to be eliminated immediately," calling for the assassination of Syrian President Shara.

NETANYAHU ALSO THREATENED

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated that they are carrying out intense attacks on Syria and threatened to expand the attacks "depending on the stance of the Damascus administration."

"I HOPE WE WON'T HAVE TO DO MORE"

Netanyahu asserted that they would not allow Syria, which disregards sovereignty rights, to turn into a "second Lebanon for Israel," claiming that they are also responsible for protecting the Druze in Syria. Netanyahu, stating that they are conducting intense attacks on Syria, said, "I hope we won't have to do more, this largely depends on what Damascus will or will not do," threatening to expand attacks on Syria.
