The Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Civil Engineers witnessed a historic change in the 50th Term elections. Mustafa Keleş, the candidate of the 'Civilization Engineers Group', won the election by defeating Özer Or, the candidate of the 'Contemporary Engineers Group' and the current president, by only 42 votes. With this result, the branch management changed hands for the first time in 42 years.
The 50th Term elections were held at the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Civil Engineers (IMO).
BRANCH CHANGED HANDS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 42 YEARS
During the congress, where slogans were occasionally shouted, 'Civilization Engineers Group' candidate Mustafa Keleş received 2,347 votes, while the candidate of the "Contemporary Engineers Group" and the current president Özer Or received 2,305 votes. The candidate of the Unity Platform, Burak Keskin, managed to get 259 votes. With Mustafa Keleş winning the election by a margin of 42 votes, the branch management has changed hands for the first time in 42 years.
After the official announcement of the election results, it is expected that the new management will distribute duties in the coming days.
