Chechen leader's harsh words for Trump: Let's see how much of a man he is.

05.12.2024 09:50

Chechnya's leader Ramzan Kadyrov used words that would anger the new U.S. president, Trump. Referring to Trump's promise that he would end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if elected, Kadyrov stated, "He promised to stop the war within 24 hours. Let's see how much of a man he is."

The leader of the Chechen Republic, which is part of Russia, Ramzan Kadyrov, criticized the new president of the United States, Donald Trump, at a press conference. Referring to Trump's promise to end the war in Ukraine after being re-elected, Kadyrov stated, "Trump promised to stop the war within 24 hours. Let's see how much of a man he is."

NO RESPONSE FROM THE USA

No response has yet come from the USA regarding Kadyrov's statements. Trump criticized the billions of dollars spent to support Ukraine in its war against Russia and promised to end the war "through negotiations within 24 hours."

WHO IS KADIROV?

Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov was born on October 5, 1976, in Tsentoroi. He is the third president of Chechnya, which is part of the Russian Federation. He was the second son and the youngest child of the Akhmet and Ayman Kadyrov family. He has an older brother named Zelimkhan (1974 - May 31, 2004) and two older sisters named Zargan (born 1971) and Zulay (born 1972).

Ramzan, who took on the role of personal driver and bodyguard for his father, Imam Akhmat Kadirov, always stated that he looked up to him. Akhmat Kadirov fought against the Russians during the First Chechen War but changed sides during the Second Chechen War, declaring his loyalty to Russia.

His father was killed on May 9, 2004, during a bomb attack organized by Chechen radical jihadists during the celebrations of World War II Victory Day in Grozny. Since he had not yet reached the legal age of 30, the presidency was assumed by Alu Alhanov before he took office, and shortly after turning 30 in 2011, he took over the presidency.

There are claims that Kadirov governs Chechnya with oppression and despotism. Over the years, he has faced criticism from Human Rights Watch for a wide range of human rights violations, including abductions, disappearances, and torture of people under his surveillance. However, he has denied these accusations every time. During his administration, he preferred to restrict women's participation in public life. He pursued exclusionary policies against LGBT individuals.
