In Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, former police officer Cemil Koç, who killed Ayşe Tokmyaz and placed her body in a suitcase, along with six accomplices, was referred to the Magistrate's Court with a request for arrest. The suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before.

After being killed in Küçükçekmece, the body of university student Ayşe Tokyaz (22), found in a suitcase by the roadside in Eyüpsultan, led to the arrest of her boyfriend, police officer Cemil Koç, and 6 other suspects, who were brought to the courthouse in the morning hours.



After their statements at the prosecutor's office, the suspects were referred to the Duty Magistrate's Court. Cemil Koç, the former police officer who killed Tokyaz and placed her body in a suitcase, was arrested for 'premeditated murder', while the other 6 suspects were arrested for 'aiding and abetting premeditated murder' and sent to prison.

Meanwhile, police teams deepening their investigations reached new information regarding the murder. It was determined that university student Ayşe Tokyaz entered the house of her ex-boyfriend, former police officer suspect Cemil Koç, in Küçükçekmece on July 9 at 19:30, and that the suspect left the house with a suitcase around 01:30 on July 11.

It was found that suspect Cemil Koç delivered the suitcase containing the body to another person for money at a gas station he drove to from the crime scene, and that this suitcase was later thrown by the roadside in Eyüpsultan. Additionally, it was learned that on Friday, July 11, around 04:00, the victim's sister Esra Tokyaz filed a missing person report with the police.



It was revealed that suspect Cemil Koç was dismissed from the police profession in 2024 for possessing an unlicensed firearm and had a record for "resisting to prevent duty," "threat," "insult," "intentional injury," and "buying, possessing, or using drugs or stimulants."
